Coastal fishery

The Dutch Fishery Act designates fishery that takes place in the coastal waters as coastal fishery, generally within the 12-mile zone

Coastal fishery comprises fishery by euro cutters, shrimp fishery, fishery with static nets, and shellfish fishery for cockles, spisula and jackknife clams. Mussel and oyster culture (shellfish fishery) are probably the best-known forms of plot-bound fishery in coastal waters.

A small part of this fishery is with passive fishing gear, such as fishing for eels with fyke nets, fishery for lobster with pots and fishery for sole with static nets.
